Watch A Breed of Heroes

Posted to Belfast in 1971, Charles Thoroughgood finds that British soldiers are pelted with rocks and bottles by the locals, sniped at by the IRA and scrutinized by the press. Their only refuge is black humor and the weird rituals of the officers' mess. When the battalion's press officer shoots himself in the foot, Thoroughgood replaces him on the front line of the battle for hearts and minds.
