Aida (1987) is a Swedish movie based on the Verdi opera of the same name. It is set in ancient Egypt and the title character is an Ethiopian princess who has been enslaved by the Egyptians. Radamès, an Egyptian military commander, falls in love with her -- and totally ignores Amneris who is in love with him. She is also Pharaoh's daughter.
