Watch Alive

This is a 2006 Russian drama. Kir is a young soldier fighting for Chechnya. He leaves the army after being injured and yearns for a quiet, stable life. The ghosts of two dead comrades appear to him and offer Kir comfort over his anguish. But Kir realizes that he cannot have a peaceful, quiet life at home or in his town. His mother considers him a stranger. His girlfriend will not speak to him, embarrassed that Kir is a soldier. His town regards Kir as persona non grata, a sad change from when he was fighting for his country. He wonders why he remains alive.
