Belly of the Beast is a 2003 American action movie directed by Siu-Tung Ching and starring Steven Seagal as Jake Hopper, a retired CIA agent who, together with his lethal partner Sunti (Byron Mann), embarks on a dangerous mission to rescue his daughter Jessica (Tamara Jade) from a group of human traffickers. The movie unfolds with a scene that introduces us to Jake Hopper, who is living a peaceful life in Thailand, running an elephant sanctuary. However, his world is turned upside down when his daughter Jessica gets kidnapped by thugs who are involved in the black market of human organs. Hopper decides to come out of retirement and use his CIA training and combat skills to rescue his daughter.
In his pursuit of the kidnappers, Hopper teams up with Sunti, his former colleague, and partner. Sunti joins Hopper with his own reasons for wanting to take down the human traffickers, and the two embark on a thrilling journey that takes them through the streets and jungles of Thailand, all the while fighting their way through the thugs and assassins trying to stop them.
As they cross paths with various underworld figures, Hopper and Sunti come face to face with the kingpin behind the human trafficking ring, Corruptor (played by Tom Wu). The two of them realize that Corruptor is powerful and very dangerous, and defeating him will not be an easy feat.
The character development in the movie is pretty weak, and the plot, although simple, is predictable.
