Originally aired as a TV movie, Butterfly is a documentary following the protest of Julia Butterfly Hill. Julia, an environmentalist, chronicles her 738 day "sit-in" atop a redwood tree she named Luna in 1997. Sitting high at 180 feet, Julia was protesting the destruction of the tree by the Pacific Lumber Company.
