Watch Chaitali

This 70s Indian drama film was directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee (Satyakam, Chupke Chupke) and stars, Dharmendra, Pradeep Kumar and Saira Banu. The film was a remake of another film of the same name which was itself based upon the Indian novel, Chaitali by A. Devi. The plot of the movie follows the unluckly life of a young woman who is wrongly accused of a theft. This accusation comes about when details from her troubled past come to the knowledge of her neighbors. However, there is one ray of light in their perpetual darkness, the kindness and support of a small, working class family.
