Renown French filmmaker Agnes Varda explores the microcosm of a small, typical French street in the mid-1970s. The picturesque Rue Daguerre in Paris was her home for fifty years and in this documentary she turns her attention and camera towards the mundane but fascinating everyday lives of the shopkeepers along her street. Filming in a low key fly on the wall style she captures their interactions, from the morning opening through the day of serving customers both old and new, revealing the breadth of this small world in this moment in time.
