"Irvine Welsh's Ecstacy" is a Canadian romantic comedy from 2011, albeit a dark comedy at that. Frustrated with her lot in life, Heather decides to go clubbing, and fall in love, with a drug user, Lloyd. As Heather and Lloyd experiment and prolong their interactions, the question because just what it is about each other that keeps them coming back, be it the drugs, their personalities, or a bit of both. Lloyd has demons of his own by being indebted to a shady individual. While Heather begins to doubt Lloyd's feelings, having a near-death experience forces him to straighten out.
