Freak Out is a horror/comedy movie released in 2015 that revolves around a group of friends who go to a remote cabin in the woods for a weekend of partying and drugs. However, things take a turn for the worse when they discover that the cabin was built on top of an old mental asylum, and the spirits of the former patients may still be lurking.

The film is directed by Boaz Armoni and stars Itay Zvolon as Matan, the main protagonist, along with Kye Korabelnikov and Assaf Ben-Shimon as his friends Martin and Dovid, respectively. The trio is joined by Matan's girlfriend, Shir (played by Adi Kvetner), and the group starts off by smoking weed, doing drugs and indulging in alcohol.

Just as things are starting to get interesting, they come across an old diary that reveals the dark history of the asylum. The group brushes it off as an urban legend and starts having fun again, but soon, strange occurrences start happening around them. They realize that they are not alone in the woods and that someone or something is watching them.

As the night progresses, the group is terrorized by the apparitions of the former patients who were kept in the asylum. They are tormented by these ghostly entities, and soon, the terror that they had previously been laughing at turns into a gruesome reality. The group is trapped in the cabin, and things only get worse as they try to survive the night.

The first half of the movie is mostly comedic, with bits of horror thrown in to keep the audience on edge. However, as the movie progresses, the horror takes center stage, and the movie becomes increasingly gruesome and intense.

One of the film's strengths is its ability to use comedy to balance out the horror. The humor is not cheap, and it doesn't undermine the seriousness of the movie's central theme. Instead, it only serves to make the characters more relatable and the horror all the more terrifying.

The film's visuals are also impressive, with excellent use of lighting and sound effects to create a creepy atmosphere. The cinematography captures the eerie woodland scenery and the desolate cabin in a way that highlights the horror of the situation. This, combined with the film's excellent sound design, creates a tense and gripping experience.

Overall, Freak Out is a fun and entertaining horror movie that provides viewers with both laughs and chills. While not particularly original, it is well-executed and offers a fresh take on a classic horror trope. The performances of the cast are strong, and the direction is skillful. Anyone who loves horror movies with a hint of comedy will find plenty to enjoy in Freak Out.
