Mika is a young English student in India in 1978. When his father dies suddenly of a heart attack Mika must face his biggest fears and go out into the world to support his mother and sisters. In his attempt to make money he also stops going to English class. This crushes him, but he knows that his family is depending on him. When Elisa Carter finds out that he has stopped going to class, she attempts to raise money to help him go back to school. Through various difficult situations, she never gives up.
