Bettie, a sassy grandmother who is a former beauty queen, finds her life falling apart in a single day when she goes bankrupt and is betrayed by her lover. Instead of coping with these discouraging events, Bettie steps out to get cigarettes and embarks on a week long odyssey across France. During her unplanned vacation from reality, Bettie finds herself reconnecting with her past, spending time with a grandson whom she hardly knows and attending a reunion with her fellow former beauty queens.
