This family drama looks at the lives of three siblings in the days following the cultural revolution in China of the 1970s and 80s. The three siblings live in a small town and face their own challenges, the first son is affected by learning difficulties and struggles to be accepted by his family and the local community. The daughter is a free spirit who is willing to do whatever it takes to escape the small town life she is living. The youngest child of the family is a son who is ashamed of his family and plots an escape.
