This motion picture tells the tale of a man who has two desires in life, his beautiful works of art and the happiness of his wife. The film tells the story of Kotaro Takamura, one of Japan's most celebrated artists. Takamura is world renowned for his stunning pieces of art including poetry and sculptures. He is married a beautiful young woman named Chieko. Chieko has dreams of her own which involve her becoming a famous artist as well. However, it soon becomes obvious that she will forever be hidden in the shadows of her far more famous husband. This sets her down a dark, long path of depression.
