Essein is a hardworking individual who has been trying to make ends meet by working several different jobs. He lives in the incredibly tough streets of Harlem, New York, moving there after spending the first few years of his life in his native Nigeria. One afternoon he receives a surprise visit from his sister named Eme. Eme has decided to move to New York to be with her brother. Essein has not seen his sister for years so when she unexpectedly shows up, the effect on him is profound. She brings with her unbelievable cultural traditions from Nigeria, much to the displeasure of Essein.
