The Grand Olympics is a short Italian documentary that was released in Italy in 1961. The documentary goes in details about the Rome Olympics in 1960. One of the main highlights of the film is track and field segment. Athletes such as Wilma Rudolph, Livio Berruti, and Abebe Bikila made Olympic history by winning gold medals, being the first ethnicity to win the 200 meters, and winning the race barefooted. After the release, the short film was nominated in the Academy Awards.
