The emperor’s son leads the army into many battles against Mala Khan. The prince is grateful to Mulan for her heroic feats in battle. She is pretending to be the male Hua and rises in rank in the army. The use of a variety of insects for military purposes provides wins and losses for both armies. The story reveals if Mulan pretending to be a male will face consequences or become a leader that defeats Mala Khan.
