Bakers vs. Fakers is a Food Network competition show that first aired in 2016. The show features four contestants, two professional bakers and two amateur bakers, who compete against one another in a series of challenges. Each episode features a different theme, such as cupcakes, pies, or holiday desserts. The contestants are given a set amount of time to create their baked goods, and are then judged on taste, presentation, and technical skill.
The contestants are judged by a panel of three experts, which includes host Lorraine Pascale, renowned cake artist Buddy Valastro, and pastry chef Zac Young. After the contestants have presented their baked goods, the judges taste and critique each one, before deciding which baker is the winner of the challenge. The winner receives a $10,000 prize, while the losing baker is sent home.
One of the unique aspects of Bakers vs. Fakers is that the amateur bakers are not identified as such to the judges or viewers. This means that the professional bakers must use their experience and skills to try and identify which of their competitors is the amateur. The amateurs, on the other hand, must do their best to impress the judges and prove that they have what it takes to compete with the pros.
Throughout the show, viewers are given insight into each contestant
