Capadocia is a Mexican drama television series that premiered on HBO Latino in 2008. The show portrays the lives of female prisoners and prison staff members in a fictional penitentiary located in Mexico City. The series ran for three seasons and a total of 39 episodes until its finale in 2012.
Dolores Heredia stars in the lead role of Teresa Lagos, the newly appointed director of the Penitenciaria de Santa Martha. Lagos is a determined and strong-willed woman who is committed to bringing change in the prison system, by improving the living conditions of the inmates, rehabilitating them, and providing them with new opportunities. However, she soon realizes that the task ahead of her is not so easy, for the prison is riddled with corruption, violence, and power struggles, both inside and outside the jail.
