Galactica 1980 is a science fiction television series that aired in 1980 on UMS (Universal Media Studios). The show is a spin-off from its predecessor Battlestar Galactica that aired from 1978 to 1979. It follows the story of a group of humans who left their planet after it was destroyed by a race of machines called Cylons.

The series takes place 30 years after the events of Battlestar Galactica, and the main characters have returned to Earth
