I Am the Night is a gripping six-part miniseries from TNT that takes viewers on a journey through the dark underworld of Hollywood in the 1940s. Created by Sam Sheridan, the show is inspired by the memoirs of Fauna Hodel, a young woman who discovers that her true identity is more shocking than she ever imagined.

The story follows Fauna (India Eisley), a teenage girl who has always felt like she doesn't fit in with her family in Reno, Nevada. When she discovers that she was actually given away at birth and that her real mother was a young woman from Los Angeles named Tamar Hodel, she decides to run away from home and find out the truth about her past.

As she delves deeper into her family history, Fauna encounters a number of dangerous characters who are determined to keep their secrets hidden. One of these characters is Jay Singletary (Chris Pine), a troubled journalist who is haunted by his experiences covering the Black Dahlia murder case a few years earlier. Singletary becomes Fauna's unlikely ally as they try to unravel the mystery of her true identity.

Together, Fauna and Singletary navigate the seedy underbelly of Los Angeles, encountering corrupt cops, shady businessmen, and powerful Hollywood elites who will stop at nothing to keep their secrets buried. Along the way, they discover shocking connections between Tamar Hodel and some of the most notorious crimes in the city's history.
