The Alice is an Australian drama series that aired from 2005 to 2006. Set in the remote town of Alice Springs, the show follows the daily lives of the town's residents, exploring themes of love, loss, and community. The show stars Erik Thomson as Patrick, a divorced father of two who returns to Alice Springs after a 20-year absence to take over his family's local pub, The Imperial. Patrick struggles to balance his responsibilities at the pub with his desire to reconnect with his estranged daughter, Charlotte (Caitlin McDougall), who has recently moved to Alice Springs to live with him.

Also central to the show is Jessica Napier's character, Alice, a local doctor who finds herself caught between her love for Patrick and her sense of duty to her patients. Alice is fiercely independent and determined to pursue her career, but her feelings for Patrick threaten to derail her plans.

As the series progresses, we see the characters grapple with a range of challenges and obstacles, from family drama to workplace conflicts. The show's focus on small-town life allows for a rich exploration of the complexities of relationships, both romantic and platonic, as well as the ways in which individuals navigate their personal and professional lives.

One of the show's strengths is its ensemble cast, which includes a variety of memorable and well-drawn characters. These include the enigmatic and sometimes volatile Harry (played by John Waters), a former criminal with a complex history in Alice Springs; the loyal and steadfast Steve (played by Brett Stiller), Patrick's longtime friend and employee at The Imperial; and the brash and ambitious Adam (played by Simon Bossell), Alice's colleague and romantic rival.
