Opposite Gassmann, we have Thure Riefenstein in the role of Conrad of Montferrat, the cunning and ambitious Italian nobleman. In contrast to these political powerhouses, there's Johannes Brandrup as the idealistic Templar, Tancredi. Brandrup's representation of a Knight Templar offers a perspective that is closer to a common soldier
