The Great Songwriters is an insightful documentary series from The Coda Collection that takes us on a journey through the lives and careers of some of the most celebrated songwriters of our time. Hosted by Paul Toogood, the show features in-depth interviews with legendary musicians such as Barry Gibb and his son, Steve Gibb.

The series opens with an insightful interview with the Bee Gees' legend, Barry Gibb, where he offers a glimpse into his iconic career, starting with the early years of the Bee Gees in the 1960s. He takes the viewers through his songwriting process and offers personal insights into some of the band's most classic hits, including "Stayin' Alive," "How Deep Is Your Love," and "Massachusetts."

Throughout the show, Barry Gibb reveals how he and his brothers created carefully crafted lyrics and melodies that stood the test of time, breaking down the essence of songwriting and how it is perceived. In his interviews, he focuses on the importance of emotion, melody and lyricism in music. The viewers are also treated to performance footage and archival material.
