The Polar Sea is a breathtaking six-part documentary series that explores the natural and cultural history of Canada's Arctic. Hosted by the legendary Canadian actor Gordon Pinsent, the show takes viewers on a journey through the icy waters of the Northwest Passage, showcasing the unique and diverse communities and wildlife that call the region home. Produced by the Ontario Educational Communications Authority (TVO) in association with the National Film Board of Canada, The Polar Sea is a groundbreaking epic that provides an unprecedented look into one of the world's most remote and fascinating regions.

The show begins with Pinsent embarking on a voyage through the fabled Northwest Passage, retracing the steps of some of the region's most renowned explorers, including Roald Amundsen, Franklin and Erebus, and John Rae. Along the way, viewers are introduced to the many communities that have lived in the Arctic for thousands of years, and to the challenges they face as they adapt to a changing climate.

One of the standout aspects of The Polar Sea is its stunning cinematography. The show's filmmakers have captured some of the most breathtaking visuals ever put to film, from the shimmering icebergs that dot the landscape to the vast expanses of open water that stretch as far as the eye can see. But the beauty captured on-screen is not simply for aesthetic purposes
