The Ultimate Fighter Nations is a popular reality television show that was aired on the Fox Sports 1 channel in the year 2014. The show was a spin-off of the original Ultimate Fighter series, which was first aired in 2005. This new show featured fighters from two different countries, Canada and Australia, and the fighters were divided into two teams, with each team being coached by a famous fighter.
The coaches for the inaugural season of The Ultimate Fighter Nations were well-known figures in the world of mixed martial arts, Patrick Cote from Canada and Kyle Noke from Australia, who were both former competitors on the UFC's main roster. The show's host and President of the UFC, Dana White, was the one who recruited these two fighters to take on the job of coaching the respective teams.
The show continued in its traditional format where two teams, red and blue, are separated, and their performance would be constantly monitored to determine which team would emerge victorious in the end. The chosen fighters were set to live and train in a house, and they would compete against each other in a series of challenges, exhibitions, and fights, with the end goal being the crown of The Ultimate Fighter Nations champion.
The fighters were selected through a grueling process of tryouts, which were held in their respective countries. In total, 32 fighters were chosen, 16 from Canada and 16 from Australia; however, only eight fighters from each country made it to the final cut. These fighters were selected based on their physical and psychological strengths, as well as their fighting skills and experience.
