It's all systems go on one of the busiest days of the year and the staff do everything they can to keep things on track. Problems abound as couples from all over the world arrive expecting a romantic and no-nonsense wedding day, but with late arrivals and lost wedding rings, the team behind the scenes have their work cut out.

Getting hitched today are Steve and Dianne who have eloped without telling a soul but are nervous about having to break the news to their families afterwards. Loved-up couple Sam and Helen finally tie the knot after knowing each other for over 20 years, if they can contain their excitement. And on the final day of top hotelier Alasdair Houston's centenary celebrations, a few surprises are in store

American dance enthusiasts Walter and Gracie make the trans-Atlantic journey to Scotland to get married and to give the locals a dance lesson. Lovebirds Dale and Pauline want the ceremony they missed out on 21 years ago, but face some inhospitable weather conditions. And leading entrepreneur Alasdair Houston stages an elaborate play to celebrate 131 years of his family's heritage.

Saying 'I do' in Gretna Green today are Kevin and Natalie who are eloping to avoid the mother-in-law's disapproval. Don and Janet travel all the way from Ireland in their campervan to marry, but Janet has some very strict pre-wedding night rules. And top Gretna Green hotelier Alasdair Houston erects a giant 12-foot thistle to make Wedding Town even more unique.

Sandra and John plan to get married, but the bride has some unwanted last-minute dress drama. County Durham sweethearts Nikki and Aiden are also making their way to Scotland to get hitched, provided bride Nikki can keep her emotions under control. And leading hotelier Alasdair Houston plans to build a love wall in Gretna Green as part of his celebrations of 131 years of his family's heritage.

Getting hitched today are Rachel and Neil whose wedding preparations were apparently less stressful than ordering a Chinese takeaway. Renewing their vows are ghost-hunter Louise and her sceptical partner Callum who are hoping for a fresh start. And at the Gables Hotel it's the biggest day of the year as manager Gillian tries to impress potential brides and grooms with a special event.

Today in Gretna Green, John and Chanelle host a wedding for 80 and this perfectionist bride has made all the decorations herself... but will events live up to her high standards? Ann and Bob from Hartlepool are making the journey to Scotland to wed, but Ann has a last minute dress disaster. And hotel manager Gillian pulls out all the stops for the wedding event of the year.

It's an emotional to-do in Gretna Green this episode for Craig and Becky as their romantic nuptials are also the last chance to see their families before emigrating to Australia. Punctual groom Andy is terrified that his bride Prisca won't turn up to their wedding on time... or at all. And things take a turn for the worse for Head Chef Glyn as he struggles with his centrepiece wedding cake.

Weddings in Gretna Green this episode include Mick and Glenda who met on a dating website two years ago. On the big day, Glenda struggles to keep her nerves under control. Cooky couple Jayne and Martin tie the knot in an elaborate medieval-themed celebration complete with jugglers, jesters and fire-eaters. And Head Chef Glyn gets to work on a show-stopping wedding cake for an upcoming event.

This episode brings control freak bride-to-be Sam and her laid-back fiance Ziggy. But when Ziggy has a big surprise up his sleeve, how will Sam react? Green-fingered couple Derek and Nicole are looking forward to their garden-themed nuptials. But when the wedding cake doesn't deliver, drastic action is needed. And hotel manager Gillian desperately tries to think of new ideas to drum up business.

Marrying on episode five are Simon and Kathryn, who have booked Gretna Green's first ever Elvis wedding. But sceptical Simon has some 'King'-related concerns. Franco and Janette have flown all the way from Australia to marry in front of her friends and family. But Italian Franco must first get to grips with his ceremonial kilt. And Jackie hopes that her first Vegas-style wedding goes smoothly.

Getting hitched today in Gretna Green are Karen and Ray, childhood sweethearts that first met over 35 years ago. After both marrying then separating from other people, they are finally tying the knot. Wolverhampton couple Jamie and Paula are hoping that after two failed wedding attempts it's third time lucky for them in Gretna Green. And Jackie finally secures her first ever Elvis wedding booking.

Tying the knot on episode three are long-term lovers Rick and Maureen, re-tracing the steps of their first marriage in Gretna Green all the way back to 1965. Also hoping for a stress-free wedding are Rebecca and her magician partner Ryan whose relationship has caused concern in his traditional Jewish family. And Jackie continues her quest as 'Faster pastor' Sandy auditions for the role of Elvis.

Getting married in Gretna Green in episode two are church-goers Jamie and Leon, who have held off from consummating their marriage until the big day. Also tying the knot are cycle fanatics Anna and Lee. Things take a wrong turn when they get lost on their tandem bike en route to the ceremony. Meanwhile, local businesswoman Jackie is still searching for her first ever Elvis-themed wedding booking.

In the opening episode of Wedding Town, theatre-loving lovebirds Lynn and Roger plan to get hitched but encounter some serious costume drama. Local entrepreneur Jackie plans to shake up Gretna Green's wedding scene by bringing a bit of Vegas magic to town. And fantasy fanatics Sam and Simon are hoping to pull off the wedding of their dreams with some Game of Thrones cosplay.
