Raja gets easily worked up with his aunt's interference in his life, but when her servant from Meerut named Jhumroo ends up at their house, it's the last straw. Raja arranges for another servant to replace Jhumroo, who is equally determined to stay.

Ranjit is out of station and forgets to deposit his policy premium. Renu has no cash with her. So to pay for the premium, Raja and Renu accommodate a paying guest in the house. But their aunt and her daughter, Rashmi arrive from Meerut to stay with them on account of Rashmi's employment, giving rise to a tiff between the guests.

But then Mrs. Talwar demands it back and the Verma family goes to great lengths to retrieve it from the Colonel.

Meanwhile, Raja hires a few actors to play the role of smugglers in his upcoming stage drama and mistakes the real ones for the actors, giving rise to a comedy of errors.

A plainclothed policeman arrives at the Verma's to train them on how to handle the situation if they're faced with the thief. But because of his fondness for gulabjamun, the Vermas think he's the thief. They drug him to sleep, but then the real thief dressed as a policeman arrives at their house.

A masked thief, who's fond of gulabjamum, enters the Verma house at night and extricates their valuables by threatening to kill Raja. In the morning, Raja, Renu and Ranjit approach the police who suggest that Raja come forward and claim to recognise the thief, so that he arrives again to get rid of Raja and the authorities can nab him.
8. Ye Jo Hai Zindagi - Episode 08 - Blackmail

Ranjit is blackmailed by two thieves who want to extricate money from him. To nab the crooks the next time they visit him, he gets Raja to appear as a police constable. Meanwhile, wanting to help her husband, Renu also gets Bhattacharya to disguise as an inspector, leading to some hilarious confrontations.
